Driven by a leadscrew-type STM motor, this lens delivers fast and quiet autofocusing performance with accurate subject tracking. Built-in image stabilization helps create noticeably sharper handheld images. Contributing to its impressive optical construction are four Ultra-low Dispersion (UD) elements and two aspherical elements, which help reduce chromatic aberrations and allow for a more compact design.
