Driven by a leadscrew-type STM motor, this lens delivers fast and quiet autofocusing performance with accurate subject tracking. Built-in image stabilization helps create noticeably sharper handheld images. Contributing to its impressive optical construction are four Ultra-low Dispersion (UD) elements and two aspherical elements, which help reduce chromatic aberrations and allow for a more compact design. Weather-resistant durability akin to an L-series lens is offered, giving users peace of mind when shooting in harsher environments.
