This flexible range is backed by a constant f/4 maximum aperture that helps prioritize portability and make this an ideal walkaround lens.
The lens design is also well-suited to multimedia use with the inclusion of a VXD (Voice-coil eXtreme-torque Drive) linear motor for quick and quiet autofocus performance. The lens also has an internal zoom and internal focus design, meaning the overall length doesn't change during use for more intuitive handling that is easy to balance when working with a gimbal stabilizer.
